Trucks and trailers for national and international transport
The vehicle fleet of Van Heugten Transport consists of over 50 trucks and 100 trailers. Depending on the type of transport various trucks and trailers are available.
The trucks are of the brands Volvo, Scania and Daf and all of them are equipped with a Track and Trace board computer. This ensures that up-to-date information is available on the location of the shipments at all times.
Trailers
Van Heugten Transport uses various types of trailers. For international transport, 44.6-feet tautline trailers are primarily used. For the unaccompanied transport to England, van Heugten Transport uses Euro liners (Ferry trailers). These are tautliners with sideboards and extra rings to secure them on the ferry boats. Van Heugten Transport uses city trailers for the distribution of pallets to customers in the agriculture and horticulture industry. In addition, bulk goods are transported. For this kind of transport, Van Heugten uses bulk trailers, so-called belt trailers.
City deliveries and emergency rides
For delivery of goods in urban areas, Van Heugten Transport uses a rigid truck with tailgate. These are also jointly used for urgent deliveries with a couple of smaller vehicles.
